Smart Sediment Trap
Ringlet lake is having issues on erosions, rubbish dumping and uncontrolled farming due to insufficient catchment management. Integrated Lake Basin Management (ILBM) is a conceptual framework for assisting Lake Basin managers and stakeholders in achieving sustainable management of lakes and their basins. It integrates institution, policy, participation, information, technology and funding as part of the component of the ILBM.
One of the physical alternatives to control sediment at source are sediment trap system at the crucial site. The concrete sediment trap constructed at Sg Habu consists of inlet, three compartments of sediment basin and outlet of the structure. Each compartments function differently as a complete system. The sediment basin were constructed using concrete as main materials. The purpose of sediment trap system is to reduce sediments inflow into reservoir.
