This KG5 cable duct filling medium formulation has the following unique parameters:
Low thermal resistivity (≤ 0.5 °Cm/W)
High fluidity (time of efflux is between 25-40s)
Non-hardening (compressive strength <2.1 MPa)
Low shrinkage
Easy mixing and applying via Mortar pump from the single end at any joint-bay
Reduced cable heat based on IEC 60502-2 test, compared to unfilled duct
Minimize premature insulation failure caused by thermal runaway
Facilitate heat dissipation thus further increasing ampacity

Problem
Failure to effectively seal cable ducts can inflict catastrophic damage to LV-HV electrical distribution networks, substations and power supply. A duct-filling medium with watertight sealing capability is developed to safeguard LV-HV cable ducts against flood damage, harmful flammable gas migration and fire.
